Fusion Medical Staffing‑Therapy is seeking a travel Speech‑Language Pathologist for a 13‑week assignment in Westerly, Rhode Island. The SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and facilitates improved communication outcomes. Essential Work Functions Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population. Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices. Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain detailed documentation in the EMR. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home exercises, and safe swallowing practices. Coordinate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to read/comprehend written and verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical abilities – able to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend. Interpersonal skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintain a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor skills – grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures. Mental requirements – cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with minimal supervision. Sensory – visual acuity and effective communication.
