Job Description Summary
Under limited supervision, reports to the nurse manager and functions as the departments designated nurse leader providing operational oversight and staff supervision. The Clinic Lead Nurse will be supporting the GI Med and GI Surgery clinics. In collaboration with the unit leadership team, ensures the achievement of optimal evidence-based patient care and department goals through efficient daily operations and compliance with established rules, regulations, and guidelines. Also, represents and supports hospital and unit-based Shared Governance structure and initiatives. Entity

40 Work Shift Job Description The Clinic Lead Nurse I, RNIII reports to the Manager. The Clinic Lead Nurse I, RNIII primarily supports clinical staffing in areas of responsibility (75% effort) while providing leadership presence and staff support up to 25% of the time or less. Under moderate supervision, the Clinic Lead Nurse I, RNIII provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. The Clinic Lead Nurse I, RNIII works in coordination with the nursing leadership. This position ensures the achievement of optimal evidence-based patient care and department goals through efficient daily operations and compliance with established rules, regulations and guidelines. Minimum Education and Requirements: Must work a minimum of 0.6FTE (average 24 hours per week). Minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required. Previous Ambulatory experience preferred. Minimum License and Certification Requirements : Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous) Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
