POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Skills Program Lead (CSPL) supports the professional growth of the organ operations team. In collaboration with the Clinical Skills Trainers and Director of Clinical Skills & Practices, this role designs and oversees Clinical Skills and Practices (CSP) programs and operations and participates in delivering and evaluating learner‑centered and performance‑based curricula. The CSPL leads train‑the‑trainer and mentorship programs, coordinates training, and fosters continuous improvement while ensuring programs and team operations meet industry and organizational quality requirements and best practices. The CSPL identifies and responds to opportunities to improve individual and organizational performance as a change agent for the organization.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee, participate in, and assist team leaders with scheduling clinical staff training, development, coaching, counseling, appraisal, recognition, and career development and advancement. Support team leadership to provide input and assistance with corrective improvement actions such as focused or formal learning or improvement associated with corrective action issuance or performance improvement plans. Assist with clinical candidate sourcing and interviewing in conjunction with the department leadership team. Activate the DNWest Quality Systems occurrence reporting system and complete follow‑up with direct reports and leadership as assigned. Work with the Clinical Skills Trainers and other DNWest educators to identify, develop, implement, and update DNWest guidelines and job aids. Ensure compliance with established quality assurance standards as well as local, state, and federal regulations relating to organ procurement. Participate in departmental and organizational strategic planning focused on meeting goals and key performance measures. Support oversight and management of the Sim Lab, vendor management, asset oversight, and clinical supplies inventory oversight. Attend meetings and events as requested and assigned. Work with other members of the management team to attain DNWest’s organizational goals and performance metrics. Manage a portfolio of curriculum development and training programs and projects and monitor team resources. Coordinate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and educators to strategize and manage the design and delivery of multiple curriculum development projects. Implement program evaluation plans and report objectives and key results. Identify program risks and prioritize escalation for solutions in a timely and clear fashion.TICKING DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT
Oversee the development and implementation of individual and group clinical training programs and assess ongoing performance of clinical staff. Establish, administer, deliver, and evaluate learner‑centered and performance‑based curricula, instructional content, and competency assessments. Provide didactic, in‑person training and skills and competency assessments for new and established clinical staff; act as a resource and coach. Carry out routine and ad‑hoc check‑ins with new and existing clinical staff, develop training plans or roadmaps, and serve as an ongoing resource during and after the orientation process. Develop and implement hands‑on simulation training in collaboration with other CSP staff. Participate in, develop, facilitate, and lead various education and development programs (e.g., Clinical Residency, Clinical Workshops). Analyze learning needs by consulting with leadership, managers, and other stakeholders to identify performance gaps, goals, and success indicators. Oversee the development and training of clinical preceptor training and monitor preceptors' compliance with training processes and procedures. Assess organizational factors that may address performance gaps or impact training outcomes and make recommendations to stakeholders. Design learning solutions and propose effective strategies to stakeholders. Work with Clinical Skills Trainers to define and document learning objectives and research content. Develop presentations, facilitator guides, participant guides, web‑based training, job aids, assessments, and other performance‑support tools. Blend web‑based training, instructor‑led training, didactics, on‑the‑job experience, and third‑party training into learning solutions. Update curricula and competency assessments according to changes in practice or performance needs. Ensure regulatory compliance with work product.TRAINING DELIVERY AND PRECEPTOR OVERSIGHT
Deliver instructor‑led training in person and through technology such as web‑based conferencing and interactive applications. Lead train‑the‑trainer, preceptor, and mentorship programs. Provide training and performance oversight and guidance to preceptors. Ensure preceptors are effective in their roles, providing consistent and accurate content and the ability to transfer knowledge and skills. Manage the training and competency assessment activity of preceptors. Onboard new employees by providing ongoing assessment of their growth, development, and readiness. Collaborate with managers of trainees during orientation and onboarding to ensure training needs of individual staff are met. Partner with delivery teams to ensure successful transition of curriculum and transfer of learning from development to implementation. Observe staff skill development on‑site, coach, and identify opportunities for improvement. Coordinate, schedule, and track orientation, training, and competency assessments. Meet with new clinical staff to explain the clinical orientation process and serve as a clinical resource. Collaborate with Learning & Development to ensure appropriate LMS content is assigned, track compliance, and maintain records.PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT
Keep current with industry and federal regulations pertaining to the donation industry. Coordinate with Learning & Development and Quality departments on requirements and updates. Foster continuous improvement and ensure operations and performance meet quality standards. Participate in work reviews to identify opportunities for improvement. Represent DNWest nationally within the organ procurement organization communities (committees, presentations, abstracts). Collaborate with stakeholders to determine best practices. Identify and act on opportunities to improve individual and organizational performance. Evaluate the impact of practice changes on learner performance to assure effectiveness. Maintain clinical skills and knowledge by making site visits at least four times a year to observe cases.STAFF EXPECTATIONS

Excellent communication, organization, meeting management, and presentation skills – written and spoken. Excellent conflict resolution, group interaction, and team building skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong knowledge of referral management, patient assessment, clinical management, organ allocation, and the overall donation process. Consultative approach to finding solutions. Proficient in recommending, following, and adapting best practices to optimize project outcomes. Strong work ethic with ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal instruction. Ability to multi‑task and rapidly adapt to changing priorities while meeting deadlines. High level of ethical practices and ability to maintain sensitive information confidential. Experience leading operational and administrative functions and programs. Project management skills or willingness to learn how to project manage small to mid‑sized projects. Current knowledge or willingness to learn basics of adult learning theory.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in registered nursing, biological sciences, health care adult learning, or similar preferred. Extensive work experience in clinical training and education program delivery, or experience as a clinical lead or supervisor in an OPO or critical care team, may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of 2 years of direct work experience in an organ and tissue procurement organization or an allied health organization preferred. Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) preferred. Software skills/experience: Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft suite of applications. Intermediate to advanced skill in Zoom. Ability to travel regionally and nationally.
