Ultrasound Tech /PRN /Call only

Qualifications Technologists must be registered and in good standing with the ARDMS. Credentialing in physics, vascular, and abdominal is preferred. Maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Occupational Exposure Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards. Responsibilities Under indirect supervision of the Radiologist, performs the full range of diagnostic Ultrasound procedures as per established Radiologist protocols. Assist physicians with invasive US biopsy procedures. Conducts and evaluates ultrasound imaging exams, providing accurate documentation and images of procedure results. Communicates pertinent information to the Radiologist regarding procedure & findings. Demonstrates competence in utilizing all imaging support equipment, including transducers, multi‑format cameras, printers, RIS, and PACS systems. Maintains inventory of all required procedure supplies. Maintains exams room in an orderly and safe condition. Explains ultrasound process and procedure to patients and answers any questions to alleviate anxiety. Accurately operates all functions of the RIS system, including entering orders and charging of all procedures. Displays superior interpersonal skills with patients and peers. Reports any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdown immediately to supervisor. Attends all required safety training programs and describes responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards. Maintains proper working condition of all equipment; promptly reports any equipment variances or malfunctions to the supervisor. Maintains competencies in all Ultrasound procedures. Assists in other areas of the Imaging department when not performing Ultrasound procedures. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous hospital environment. Operates and maintains high‑level disinfection of all probes via Trophon.
