Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually

Howell Chase is seeking an experienced HVAC & Plumbing Service Manager to lead our service operations and help drive the continued growth of our team.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands the service business from both sides — leading technicians and working in the field . The ideal candidate has previous management experience along with a strong technical background in HVAC and/or plumbing.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach, and hold HVAC and plumbing service technicians accountable for performance

• Manage day-to-day service department operations

• Support technicians with technical troubleshooting and difficult service calls

• Monitor technician productivity, revenue, average ticket, callbacks, close rates, and other key performance indicators

• Conduct regular technician meetings, training, coaching, and performance reviews

• Ensure technicians provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with homeowners

• Help develop technicians' technical, communication, and sales skills

• Review service calls and identify opportunities to improve performance

• Work closely with dispatch and office staff to maintain efficient scheduling and workflow

• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new technicians

• Ensure company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards are consistently followed

• Address customer concerns and assist with escalated situations when necessary

• Help control labor, materials, warranty work, callbacks, and other service department expenses

• Maintain a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and customer service

• Work with company leadership to achieve department revenue and profitability goals

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Previous HVAC and/or plumbing service management experience

• Previous hands-on technician experience

• Strong understanding of residential service operations

• Proven ability to lead and hold technicians accountable

• Strong technical troubleshooting knowledge

• Excellent communication and customer-service skills

• Ability to coach technicians on both technical performance and customer communication

• Comfortable reviewing KPIs and using performance data to manage the department

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Valid driver's license

Preferred:

• Experience managing both HVAC and plumbing service operations

• ServiceTitan or similar field-service software experience

• Experience managing department revenue, labor, budgets, and profitability

• Experience recruiting, training, and developing service technicians

Compensation

$70,000–$80,000 base salary annually , based on experience and qualifications.
