SOIL WORKER - LAUNDRY FACILITY


Location: Clearwater, Florida

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM-1:30 PM
Starting Pay: $15.50/hour
Pay After Direct Hire: $17.50/hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Position Overview


We are currently hiring reliable and hardworking Soil Workers for a busy laundry facility serving hospital operations.


This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position that requires employees to remain on their feet for extended periods and work in a very warm environment. New employees will begin on the Dirty Side of the facility and may have the opportunity to move into other duties as they gain experience and demonstrate strong performance.


Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply.

Dirty Side Responsibilities

• Sort and separate linens according to the cleaning process.
• Operate industrial dryers.
• Work safely in a hot environment where dryer temperatures can reach up to 450°F.
• Wear required protective equipment, including masks, gloves, and gowns.
• Maintain a fast and consistent work pace.
• Follow all safety, quality, and workplace procedures.
• Remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Maintain proper separation of dirty and clean linens.

Important: The dryer station is considered the most challenging starting assignment. Employees who successfully perform this job may have opportunities to move into other duties within the facility.

Clean Side Responsibilities


Employees may have opportunities to perform duties such as:

• Folding linens.
• Ironing and preparing linens for packaging.
• Shrinking, tying, and wrapping items.
• Maintaining proper separation between clean and dirty linens.
• Performing general laundry duties as assigned.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Work Environment

• Physically demanding work.
• Extended periods of standing and walking.
• Fast-paced production environment.
• Non-air-conditioned work areas that can become extremely hot.
• Requires attention to detail and consistent adherence to safety procedures.
• Appropriate summer attire, including shorts when permitted, may be allowed.
• Year-round work supporting hospital laundry operations.

Schedule


Monday-Friday
5:00 AM-1:30 PM


Temporary employees typically work approximately 35-36 hours per week .


Candidates must be dependable and comfortable arriving on time for the early morning schedule.

Temp-to-Hire Opportunity


This position offers the opportunity to transition from temporary employment to direct employment.


Once hired directly, employees typically receive approximately 38-40 hours per week and may become eligible for company benefits.

Pay Progression

• Starting pay: $15.50/hour
• After direct hire: $17.50/hour
