Assistant or Associate Professor in Cancer Biostatistics

The University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center(UMGCCC) is recruiting a full-time, tenure track Assistant orAssociate Professor in Cancer Biostatistics to join our thrivingcancer research environment. This person will hold a primaryappointment in the Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics inthe Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the Universityof Maryland School of Medicine. Applicants must have a Ph.D. orequivalent in Biostatistics or Statistics. The successful candidate will be a core faculty in the UMGCCCBiostatistics Shared Resource and will be required to supportGreenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center investigators and theresearch infrastructure of the Center. Greenebaum Cancer Centerincludes 4 major research programs: Cancer Therapeutics, PopulationScience, Cancer Biology, and Tumor Immunology andImmunoengineering. The successful candidate will be a full-timemember of the Biostatistics Shared Resource (BSR). The BSR isresponsible for statistical collaboration across the Center,including the design and statistical oversight of clinical trials,and quantitative educational efforts related to the training offellows and students. The Shared Resource currently includes 4full-time PhD faculty from the Division of Biostatistics andBioinformatics, as well as affiliated data science faculty fromacross the University of Maryland. There also is closecollaboration with the Institute of Genome Sciences and theInstitute for Health Computing. Qualifications : Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Biostatistics,Statistics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics. Preferencewill be given to individuals who have demonstrated a record ofsupporting team science grants such as SPORE, P01, U01 and U54. Thepreferred candidate will also have established their owncutting-edge research and have shown the ability or the potentialto attract external, peer-reviewed funding. Desired qualities include: 1)clinical trial expertise, 2) experience with collaborative grantwriting and team science grants and 3) a record of cutting-edgeresearch in biostatistics. In summary, the ideal candidate will becollaborative and have methodological versatility, with an interestin clinical trials and biostatistics as applied to cancerresearch. Salary range: Up to $200,000 annually The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based onfaculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not includeall components of the Program in Oncology faculty compensationprogram or pay from participation in the Program in Oncologyvariable compensation programs. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end ofthe salary range.
