We are looking for a strong Staff Accountant with public accounting experience who can confidently support multiple clients and entities in a growing accounting firm.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and taking ownership of their work. You should be comfortable working in QuickBooks Online, managing details across multiple businesses, and knowing when something does not look right.

We are looking for someone who can come in strong, ask good questions, communicate clearly, and help move client work forward with accuracy and care.

Public accounting experience and QuickBooks Online experience are required.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be working with multiple businesses and entities, helping with day-to-day accounting, cleanup work, reconciliations, and monthly close tasks.

Responsibilities may include:

• Managing accounting work across multiple clients and entities
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Reviewing and coding transactions
• Cleaning up and correcting accounting records
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable support
• Journal entries and adjusting entries
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Month-end close support
• Reviewing financial activity for accuracy and consistency
• Communicating questions, issues, and missing information clearly
• Helping improve processes and workflows as the firm grows

Must-Have Qualifications

• Public accounting experience is required
• QuickBooks Online experience is required
• Experience working with multiple clients or multiple entities
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals
• Ability to reconcile accounts accurately
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Comfortable asking the right questions instead of guessing
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple deadlines

Bonus Skills

• Experience with Xero, Wave, or other accounting platforms
• Payroll entry or payroll journal entry experience
• Sales tax experience
• Cleanup or catch-up accounting experience
• Experience supporting small businesses
• Experience in a CPA firm, bookkeeping firm, or outsourced accounting environment

The ideal candidate has worked in public accounting or a multi-client accounting environment and understands the pace, variety, and responsibility that comes with serving more than one business at a time.

You should be comfortable working in QuickBooks Online, handling reconciliations, reviewing transactions, identifying issues, and communicating clearly when something needs attention.
