Job Description Summary
The Full-Time Clinician provides high-quality outpatient psychotherapy using evidence-based interventions such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, EMDR, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Brainspotting, and other trauma-focused modalities.
Clinicians maintain a weekly caseload of 25+ clients and uphold high standards for documentation, care coordination, and professional collaboration. Supervision is provided for pre-licensed staff. All therapists work within Ignite’s structured policies and clinical systems to ensure sustainability and excellence in care.
Ignite Counseling Colorado specializes in OCD, trauma, and addictions. Clinicians must be willing to participate in in-house training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and to apply ERP and other evidence-based approaches as primary treatment methods for OCD and related anxiety conditions.
Excellent trauma-informed care at Ignite includes using validated assessment tools (such as the PCL-5) to inform PTSD diagnosis and treatment planning and delivering trauma-focused interventions that support meaningful symptom reduction and healing. Clinicians are expected to assess trauma symptoms with validated tools and provide healing-focused care using evidence-based treatments such as EMDR, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Brainspotting, or equivalent modalities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Treatment
- Provide individual psychotherapy and, when indicated, couples or family sessions using evidence-based interventions aligned with client needs and Ignite’s areas of specialization.
- Build strong therapeutic rapport and cultivate a culture of feedback and trust with clients and colleagues.
- Maintain ethics and confidentiality of client information and Ignite Counseling Colorado’s proprietary information.
- Provide care to clients regardless of payor source and support accessibility of services.
- Utilize best-practice interventions and remain current with research-based care for OCD, trauma, addictions, and co-occurring concerns.
- Provide OCD-focused treatment using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and other evidence-based strategies as the primary therapeutic approach for OCD and related anxiety conditions.
- Provide trauma-focused treatment using evidence-based modalities appropriate to the client’s presentation and goals (e.g., EMDR, ERP for trauma-related OCD, Prolonged Exposure, Brainspotting, trauma-focused CBT, CPT, or similar approaches).
- Demonstrate the ability to recognize and navigate dissociative patterns and other trauma-related states, using grounding and coping strategies to help clients stay within a workable window of tolerance during trauma processing.
- Apply trauma interventions in a phased, safety-oriented manner, adjusting pace based on each client’s nervous system regulation and readiness.
- Provide a calm, attuned, and stabilizing presence in session, using co-regulation and clear structure to support clients in tolerating distress while maintaining emotional and physical safety.
- Offer clinically appropriate services to LGBTQIA+ clients with enthusiasm for serving this part of the community, including openness to learning about minority stress, identity-related trauma, and resilience.
- Collaborate with other Ignite clinicians and supervisors to ensure care is consistently trauma-informed, evidence-based, and aligned with organizational values.
- Follow Ignite’s Employment and Practice Policies and adhere to all applicable legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Administrative Tasks
- Perform intake assessments, including trauma and OCD-focused screening tools, and determine client fit for Ignite’s services.
- Engage in treatment planning that includes clear goals, measurable objectives, and appropriate use of validated measures (such as the PCL-5 and other symptom rating scales).
- Maintain a paper-free practice utilizing Ignite’s EHR system.
- Complete DAP notes every session within 24 hours and update treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Maintain organized, professional communication by responding promptly to calls, emails, and portal messages.
- Track work hours, billing, and payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may include authorization and billing forms, phone calls, consultation with external providers, and participation in case consultation meetings.
- Implement effective time management strategies and demonstrate independence in clinical workflow.
Team Building and Networking
- Demonstrate reliable and dependable attendance at all scheduled meetings, supervision, and client sessions.
- Maintain reliable transportation to the office and readiness for periodic telehealth sessions when appropriate.
- Network within the therapist community to sustain strong referral sources and represent Ignite’s mission and values.
- Contribute positively to team culture by engaging in collaborative case discussions, sharing knowledge, and supporting peers.
- Model humility, respect, inclusion, and openness to feedback in interactions with colleagues, supervisors, and community partners.
