Senior Electrical Engineer, Data Center Power Systems Design

Position Title: SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Location : HOUSTON, TX
FLSA Class : EXEMPT
Responsible to : TEAM LEAD - DATA CENTER DESIGN

Position Summary : This position is primarily responsible for the design, analysis, and
documentation of electrical systems for microgrids, power distribution, and renewable energy
equipment. Duties can involve some on-site commissioning and troubleshooting work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and review of medium/low voltage electrical power generation, distribution and microgrid systems
• Preparation of electrical documentation including Short Circuit, Arc Flash and
• Coordination, Power System, Grounding, Load Flow, Harmonics, Fault studies, and
• Transient studies using software such as ETAP
• Preparation of other documentation including area classifications, drawings and reports, fugitive emissions studies, single line diagrams, and electrical BOMs as well as reports associated with electrical system studies
• Develop and maintain technical documentation related to electrical systems
• Provide engineering support to other departments as needed

Other Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering 5-10+ years of experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with medium voltage power generation system design (to include distribution line design)
• Thorough knowledge of applications, electrical codes, and standards (IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn new technologies and skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Design experience in an EPC environment
• Experience in the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment
• Experience with Power Generation Controls and Automation
• Experience with programming Digital Multifunction Relays
• Experience developing relay logic, electrical protection, and coordination schemes
• Experience performing electrical studies with ETAP or similar software
