Directly or indirectly, you'll have exposure to cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking medical research.Location: Bayview Medical - Cardiology OP ClinicHours/Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PMPay Rate: $21–$25/hour (based on experience)ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Assistant provides direct support in the examination and treatment of patients in an ambulatory clinical setting under the supervision of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner. This role is essential to ensuring efficient patient flow, high-quality clinical care, and excellent patient experiences. Responsibilities include patient preparation, clinical support, documentation, specimen handling, and coordination of care.Room patients; obtain vital signs; perform medication reconciliationPrepare and assist patients during examinations and procedures, including chaperoningAdminister vaccines; perform venipuncture; collect and process specimensAssist providers with procedures and in-basket patient messages and care requestsReview charts and obtain labs, imaging, and test results prior to visitsAccurately document care in the medical recordMaintain clean, stocked, and safe exam and procedure roomsEnsure efficient patient flow and communicate clinical changes to providersSupport quality improvement initiatives and assist with staff orientation as neededQualificationsAt least 6 months of CMA experience is required.Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training programCertification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA or NRCMA) from an approved agency is required.Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; and recertification required every two years.Strong communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully and professionally with patients, visitors, and staffJohns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
