Beginner - 1 to 5 typical cases; understands indications and basic technique but may require supervision, coaching, or occasional assistance. Intermediate - 6 to 20 typical cases; can generally perform independently in straightforward cases and recognizes when escalation/referral is needed. Advanced - >20 cases for common procedures; routinely performs independently, manages variations/complications, and can appropriately coach or supervise others.
