Material Handler IIThe Material Handler II is responsible for receiving, moving, storing, counting, tracking, issuing, and shipping a variety of production parts, materials, and supplies. The production floor relies on this position to provide the right parts and materials at the right time to meet on-time-delivery goals.Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. You'll join a business with a long track record of engineering excellence, set in the wonderful town of Burbank filled with great community atmosphere, schools, weather and no shortage of entertainment.Start the next chapter of your career with Crane Aerospace & Electronics!Essential Functions:Maintain accurate inventory control by following established work instructions and processes.Complete the cycle count process for Value Stream; Escalate variances in counts as neededPerform root cause investigation on variances in cycle countsMove materials to and from receiving, production areas and shipping by hand, using sorting bins and carts, or other equipmentConsult with others (i.e., supervisors, buyer planners, etc.) to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specificationsUnpack, receive, and stock materials into storeroom location(s); Pack and ship materials in accordance with contract requirementsRead work orders to determine material and equipment needs for production cell workIssue critical materials to production cellsRespond to unplanned issues with internal customers in a timely mannerAid and/or Backfill coworkers, as needed to complete daily tasksChange part stocking methods to better facilitate production needsEnsure compliance with export compliance rulesAssist with training new employees and cross training other materials associatesCapable of supporting more than one value streamAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementMinimum Qualifications:Experience: 3-6 years of relevant manufacturing experience; Previous experience working with manufacturing software toolsKnowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods; Familiar with lean principles; Understanding of continuous improvement toolsSkills/Abilities: Demonstrated outstanding manual dexterity; Demonstrated ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks; Demonstrated ability to accurately follow detailed work instructions; Demonstrated ability to understand standard work instructions; Demonstrated ability to solve routine problems; Math skills to perform basic calculations; Outstanding verbal communication skills; Proficient with MS OfficeEducation/Certification: High School diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications:Knowledgeable in the use of MicroscopesEligibility Requirement:This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered.
