Asphalt Plant Operator

Job Title: Asphalt Plant Operator Job Summary The Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of an asphalt production facility. This role involves monitoring plant systems, adjusting controls, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring production meets quality specifications and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor asphalt plant equipment, including burners, conveyors, silos, and control systems Adjust plant settings to maintain proper material mix, temperature, and output levels Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues to minimize downtime Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies Coordinate with truck drivers, quality control personnel, and supervisors to ensure timely production and delivery Maintain accurate production logs, reports, and documentation Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and notify management of shortages Keep plant and surrounding work area clean and organized Qualifications Previous experience operating an asphalt plant or similar industrial equipment preferred Knowledge of asphalt production processes and materials is a plus Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues Basic computer skills for operating control systems and logging data Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and quality control Ability to work independently and make real-time decisions Effective communication and teamwork skills Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability Commitment to workplace safety Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Work in outdoor environments with exposure to heat, dust, and noise Ability to work in varying weather conditions Work Environment Industrial plant setting Exposure to moving machinery, elevated work areas, and loud noise Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) Schedule Full-time position May require early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime depending on production demands Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage (based on experience) Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Equal Opportunity Employer Statement ABCI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets. #J-18808-Ljbffr
