Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 is required
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting techniques within educational settings
• Demonstrated experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools or comparable environments
• Ability to interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and various school activities
• Strong understanding of confidentiality protocols and the Code of Professional Conduct for interpreters
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to effectively support students, teachers, and staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for students during classroom lessons, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular events
• Collaborate closely with teachers and special education staff to meet individual student communication needs
• Adapt interpreting style and approach to suit academic content and student preferences
• Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere to help students participate fully in school life
• Maintain accurate daily records of services provided and participate in team meetings as needed
