Machinist

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating band saws, grinders, and lathes, with a strong preference for CNC experience, either in programming or operation. The Machinist will primarily work with graphite materials to produce precision parts. Day to day activities include cutting of graphite according to specified requirements, utilizing techniques such as saw cutting, six-side grinding, and machining. Additionally, the role involves machining custom parts based on provided prints.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain band saws, grinders, lathes, and other machining equipment to machine precision components from graphite materials.
• Set up machines according to job specifications, including tooling, programming, and fixtures.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to ensure accurate production of parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Adhere to strict quality control standards and conduct thorough inspections of finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Work collaboratively with team members to optimize production processes and achieve production targets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following safety protocols and procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience operating band saws, surface grinders, and CNC Vertical Mill in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, desire to work with hands
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional technical education or certification in machining preferred.
• Centerless Grinder Experience
• Ability to read blueprints
• CNC Programming Experience
