School Bus Driver

Provides safe, courteous, and timely bus transportation for Jackson County School System's students. Employment terms include a 180 day work calendar, 5 hours per day, and an annual salary range of $18,896 - $26,156 ($20.99 - $29.06 per hour). The position is non-exempt and eligible for Jackson County School System benefits.

Qualifications include a motor vehicle operator's license, a current commercial driver's license (CDL), class B with passenger and school bus endorsement, and demonstrated ability to perform essential functions.

Essential functions include driving designated routes, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fueling the bus, delivering it to the transportation department shop, submitting reports and time sheets, attending required training meetings, operating the bus in compliance with laws and district policies, maintaining cleanliness, monitoring communication devices, conducting emergency evacuation drills, and maintaining student discipline.

Performance factors include light work, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, vision, interaction with others, concentration, stress management, independent judgment, decision making, public contact, and attendance dependability.
