As a Survey Technician, you will support project teams by performing field surveys, data collection, and mapping tasks that are essential for planning and design processes. Your expertise will help ensure project accuracy and efficiency from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys using GPS surveying equipment, digital survey tools, and leveling techniques to gather accurate land and construction data.
• Operate standard passenger cars and other vehicles to access various local driving routes necessary for site visits and survey locations.
• Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems), AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS software to process survey data, create detailed maps, and prepare reports.
• Perform hydrographic surveys and mapping using photogrammetry, LiDAR surveys, and other remote sensing technologies to capture terrain features.
• Document survey activities through photography, field notes, and digital data collection methods; maintain organized databases of survey information.
• Support construction surveys by setting out boundaries, verifying elevations, and ensuring alignment with project specifications.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing survey findings, technical notes, and project progress updates for review by engineers and project managers.

Skills

• Proficiency in land surveying techniques including leveling surveying methods and GPS surveying technology.
• Experience with mapping using GIS, LiDAR surveys, photogrammetry, and CAD software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Ability to operate mobile devices for data collection and field mapping efficiently.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles related to construction surveys and site layout.
• Skilled in using databases for storing survey data; familiar with report preparation standards.
• Knowledge of construction experience is preferred to understand project requirements thoroughly.
• Capable of navigating local driving routes confidently for timely site access; valid driver’s license required.
