Palliative Care Specialist

Provides specialized consultative services to children and families where a child has a serious illness that may progress to end-of-life. Provides social, emotional, spiritual, and logistical care for the child with a potentially life-limiting illness and their family. Provides multidisciplinary clinical collaboration for Palliative Care (PC), Seattle Children's health providers, and community health providers. Works collaboratively with PC team members to develop program goals, processes, services, and quality improvement indicators and projects.
Provides education and training in the philosophy and elements of palliative care to Seattle Children's and external health professionals. Works in collaboration with PC medical providers to integrate the services of community palliative care and hospice providers with the PC service in support of care coordination and continuity for patients and families. Required Education and ExperienceBachelors degree in Nursing, or Master's degree in Social Work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and the State of Washington, or Master's in Divinity or equivalent/Ecclesiastical endorsements for pastoral and spiritual care ministry.
Minimum 2-4 years clinical experience in serious illness, chronic or acute care.
Acute care experience in a hospital or community setting.
Pediatric experience. Required Credentials
Current State of Washington RN License, or currently licensed in Washington State as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or a Licensed Social Work Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) in the process of obtaining clinical hours to become an LICSW or Board Certified Chaplain by a professional organization for chaplains (i.e. NACC, APC, NAJC, etc.). Preferred
Multidisciplinary team experience.
Clinical background working with children with life limiting illness.
Experience and understanding of community resources and pediatric tertiary care center.
Palliative care or hospital experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in crisis intervention with children/families. Compensation Range
$97,665.00 - $146,497.00 per year Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year).
