Registered Nurse (RN), PCU

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) will provide high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing a variety of critical health conditions. The RN will be responsible for managing telemetry, interpreting cardiac rhythms, and conducting non-invasive airway management as part of their daily duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms.
• Perform non-invasive airway management and rapid response team activation.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips, such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, and Nicardipine.
• Ensure compliance with isolation precautions and utilize proper PPE.
• Conduct computerized documentation per facility standards.
• Provide peripheral line care and management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or Progressive Care Unit.
• PCU and neuro stepdown experience with NIHSS certification preferred.
• BLS certification is required.
• Ability to manage dysrhythmias effectively.
• Experience with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4.

Scheduling and Work Environment

• Must be available to work every other weekend.
• Will be expected to float within the scope of practice to meet facility needs, including to other locations when necessary.
• No block scheduling accommodations are available.
• Local candidates are accepted; pending licenses will also be considered.
