Supervisor, Nursing

Job Summary Supervises employees engaged in daily physician practice operations to facilitate effective daily practice operations and delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with all applicable regulatory, state and federal guidelines. The role may also consider specialty, geographic proximity to the corporate office, volume of business, or work at the practice site. Minimum Education Completed the prescribed curricula of a practical nursing program or equivalent coursework, or completed the prescribed curricula of a school of nursing approved and verified by a state board of nursing and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or certificate. Licensure, Registration, and Certification Valid multi-state or Oklahoma Licensed Practical Nurse License or Registered Nurse License. Current CPR Certification. Work Experience 5 years of related experience, including 3 years at a supervisory level. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of physician practice management. Knowledge of basic fiscal management and human resource management practices. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work and direct others accordingly. Attention to detail in examining clinical and numeric data. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Supervises the daily operations of the physician practice clinical operations. Serves as a role model and mentor to all staff. Proficiently uses IDX and other computer applications to achieve optimum patient care efficiencies. Provides appropriate clinical information, advice, and oversight to individuals engaged in physician practice clinical operations and ensures proper maintenance of patient exam rooms, clinical instrumentation, and medical equipment. Communicates and administers policies and procedures regarding the daily operations at the medical practice site. Communicates and seeks counsel with the Clinic Manager and other resources regarding operational issues. Aids in recruitment, orientation, counseling, and evaluation of a team of engaged employees to assure quality patient care. Maintains exemplary patient satisfaction and serves as key on-site contact to resolve patient concerns. Encourages increased knowledge of team members and performs other duties as required. Serves as a liaison for patients, government agencies, and third-party payors on-site for individual practice sites. Serves as a liaison between administration, physicians, and staff. Assists in monitoring practice site revenue generation and expense allocations. Problem solves deficiencies to reach stated goals. Ensures staff knowledge and compliance with current Health System, Warren Clinic, HIPAA, and OSHA policies and procedures. Leads quality initiatives and safety functions. Leads activities to promote employee engagement. Decision Making The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor. Working Relationship Direct supervision of others. Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
