Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant Discipline: Therapy Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Physical Therapist Assistant - Day Shift, 13 Weeks Contract Job Description The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist (RPT) to provide essential physical therapy services according to the patient plan of care, contributing to the rehabilitation staff in achieving optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Provide treatment to patients as prescribed by a physician, following evaluations made by the RPT. Implement care plans developed with the RPT to relieve pain, enhance function, and maintain maximum performance using physical means. Direct and assist patients in both active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, and activities of daily living. Utilize equipment including ultra-violet and infrared lamps, diathermy, and ultrasound machines. Observe, record, and report patient reactions to treatment and any changes in patient condition to the RPT. Educate patients and caregivers on self-care techniques as appropriate. Coordinate with the health agency for equipment availability for patients. Complete and submit accurate clinical notes and documentation in a timely manner according to agency standards. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance. Current licensure in New Hampshire or Vermont.
