Application Production Support Engineer (Equities / Prime Brokerage)Location: Jersey City, NJ (Onsite)Hours: Includes participation in an on-call and rotating weekend support scheduleAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Application Production Support Engineer to support mission-critical applications within a fast-paced financial services environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of applications that support Prime Brokerage and Equities business functions.The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in application production support, Linux/Unix environments, monitoring and observability tools, scripting, and incident management. This individual will partner closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and operations teams to rapidly resolve production issues and drive continuous service improvements.ResponsibilitiesProvide Level 1 and Level 2 production support for critical business applications.Monitor application health and system performance using enterprise monitoring tools.Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents in real time.Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive long-term solutions for recurring issues.Support application deployments, releases, and disaster recovery testing.Manage batch processing and job scheduling activities.Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve complex issues.Communicate production incidents and service disruptions to technical and business stakeholders.Develop automation solutions to reduce manual operational effort.Participate in after-hours and weekend support rotations as needed.Continuously improve operational processes, monitoring capabilities, and service reliability.Required Qualifications3+ years of Application Production Support, Production Operations, or Application Support experience.Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills.Experience supporting business-critical production applications.Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting and data analysis.Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability tools such as:SplunkDynatraceGeneosSimilar monitoring platformsExperience with Shell/Bash scripting.Knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes.Ability to perform detailed root cause analysis and issue remediation.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Preferred QualificationsFinancial services experience.Prime Brokerage or Equities business knowledge.Front Office or Trading Application Support experience.Python scripting experience.Oracle database experience.Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.Experience with DevOps practices and automation initiatives.Experience supporting client-facing or revenue-generating applications.Ideal Candidate ProfileThe successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver who thrives in a high-visibility environment.
