Interventional Radiology RN

Position: Interventional Radiology RN Start date: ASAP Shifts: 4x10 Days Length: 13 Weeks Years of experience required: 1 year - preferred 3-5 years ICU experience required First-timers accepted: No Weekend coverage varies depending on staffing - possible every 3-4 weekends RNs usually have one night of call during the week every other week. Call hours are from 5 PM to 7 AM the next day. There is one weekend call shift every 4-6 weeks from 5 PM Friday night to 7 AM Monday morning. Night shift staff work every night except for Saturday night, which requires call coverage. Unit includes procedures such as CT-guided biopsy, fistulograms, GJ-tube placement, lower extremity angiograms, nuclear med/stress tests, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and Y90 procedures. RNs usually have a patient ratio of 1:1 during days, nights, and weekends. On occasion, float may be required, but this is rare. Daily census is approximately 15-20 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront. Candidates must commit to working three of the five holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.
