Our client, a leader in healthcare diagnostics and medical technology, is seeking a Product Safety Specialist to join their team. As a Product Safety Specialist, you will be part of the Regulatory Affairs department supporting product safety and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong scientific expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.

Location: South Portland, ME

Pay Range: $44/hr on w2

What's the Job?

• Ensure divisional compliance with regulations and internal standards for Product Safety and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) generation.
• Coordinate with sites to organize and obtain accurate product composition information for SDS creation.
• Develop standardized product composition templates and processes to streamline safety data management.
• Support the development and maintenance of Product Safety systems and programs, integrating safety requirements into manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Technical Product Support, R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance, and external vendors to ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards are met.

What's Needed?

• B.S., MS, or PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the biotechnology industry with a focus on product safety and stewardship.
• Expertise in Safety Data Sheet (SDS) generation and familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
• Proven experience managing complex technical projects and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong scientific communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate teams.
