Quality Inspector / Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)If you are a Certified Welding Inspector who enjoys being out on the floor, solving problems, and working directly with welders, fabricators, and engineers, this is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the quality of highly engineered equipment. An established manufacturer in the northwest Twin Cities is seeking a Quality Inspector / Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support the fabrication of welded assemblies, vessels, skidded systems, and specialty piping used in demanding industrial applications. This is not a repetitive production inspection role. You will work closely with engineering, fabrication, and quality teams to evaluate complex assemblies, interpret drawings and welding requirements, provide technical guidance, and help ensure finished equipment meets customer specifications and industry codes.Quality Inspector Responsibilities:Perform visual inspections of welds, fabricated assemblies, vessels, piping systems, and related components.Verify fabrication work against engineering drawings, customer specifications, welding procedures, and applicable industry codes.Serve as a technical resource for welders and fabrication personnel, helping identify quality concerns and resolve issues before they become larger problems.Review and verify welding documentation including WPSs, PQRs, WQTRs, and supporting quality records.Inspect fabricated vessels, skidded process systems, internal vessel components, and specialty piping assemblies.Support inspection of PVC, PVDF, and polypropylene (PP) piping and fabricated components.Document inspection results through clear reports, photographs, and quality records.Partner with engineering, production, and project teams to coordinate inspection activities with manufacturing schedules.Participate in NDT activities and support corrective actions related to weld or fabrication quality.Occasionally travel to suppliers, customer sites, or project locations for inspections.Quality Inspector Qualifications:Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.Approximately 5+ years of experience in welding, fabrication, manufacturing inspection, or a closely related environment.Strong understanding of welded fabrication and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Working knowledge of codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, ASTM, and ASME.Experience working with WPS, PQR, and welder qualification documentation.Experience with NDT methods or related certifications.Trade school education or technical training in welding, fabrication, inspection, or a related discipline is preferred.Benefits:Health, dental, and vision insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Paid time off401k with employer match or contributionPet insuranceKonik is an equal-opportunity employer.
