Chelsea, MI 48118 Day Shift Role Overview As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting providers and nursing leadership to deliver exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include both administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring a seamless and compassionate patient experience. What You Will Do Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience. Obtain and record accurate medical histories and vital signs. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assisting providers as needed. Perform a variety of clinical tasks to support patient care and provider efficiency. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment to ensure patient safety and comfort. What You Will Need Required Qualifications High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), or equivalent experience as outlined in the job description. Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation. Preferred Qualifications Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience. Additional Requirements: • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR • Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR • Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR • Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. • Must Successfully complete all components of Ambulatory orientation as defined by Henry Ford Health.
