Job Overview ATelecomForeman is responsible for the installation of communications cabling and equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and standards. As a Foreman you should have the work experience installing equipment which involves using hand tools and power tools, an understanding of Telecom Systems, blueprints and knowledge of codes and standards. Telecom Foreman are full‑time employees with company benefits. The Deputy Project Leader is a position that consists of supervising and directing the employees on a particular project, preparing strategic plans and budgets, developing a comprehensive project plan, and analyzing statistical data. Responsibilities Run day‑to‑day operations of a project or sub‑section of a project. Identify change orders and ensure effective resolution. Price, track and manage change orders. Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses. Maintain as‑built documentation as work is completed and document project issues/conditions. Plan and execute project completion and punch list. Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work. Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications. Research and compile submittals; price change orders and prepare estimates for partially designed projects by completing the design and preparing a complete project estimate. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems. Communicate with people outside the company, representing the company to customers, the public, the government, and general contractor representatives. Clearly understand the timeliness required for decision making, submission of RFIs, and documentation of all verbal conversations or agreements. Qualifications Education: BS in Engineering (Preferred EE or industry related degree) with 5+ years of experience. Experience: Related construction experience with five years’ working for an electrical or construction contractor. Experience working on construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M. Experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals. Experience with CPM scheduling. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints and drawings on projects. Must have strong interpersonal and writing skills and be a problem owner/solver. Proven ability to effectively plan and organize one's own activities or the activities of others. Proficiency with computers including MS Office, Blue Beam, and PDF. Preferred Skill Set: Accubid Estimating (or equivalent) directly related to electrical installations. Primavera P6 CPM scheduling experience and proficiency (or equivalent). Ability and willingness to travel to project locations as needed.
