Registered Nurse (RN) - Mother/Baby

Location: Dallas, TX

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 70
• Staffing: Approximately 120 staff members
• Day Shift Staffing:
  • 1 Charge Nurse
  • 2 Resource Nurses
  • 2 Admission Nurses
  • 7-15 Registered Nurses (RNs)
  • 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Patient Ratios: 6 patients per nurse with 1:3 couplets
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: CPN

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

• Must have experience in Mother/Baby care

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in NICU or postpartum care is preferred

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive Mother/Baby care
• Support breastfeeding as a lactation consultant (LC)
• Administer phototherapy and blood sugar checks
• Provide intravenous (IV) antibiotics when required

Certifications Required:

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Additional Information:

• Weekend Shifts: 3-4 shifts per schedule
• No call required
• Floating as a resource nurse may be expected, but this is rare
