Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Newburgh, Indiana. This observation unit role involves working days with 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Candidates must bring their license on the first day. The position requires a minimum of two years of strong Med/Surg experience, recent EPIC charting experience, and current active compact licensure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills and be adaptable to operational changes. The assignment length is 13 weeks, starting on 06/29/2026, and candidates are required to work three weekends out of every six weeks and every other holiday.

• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS certification, NIHSS certification, Associate Degree or Certificate, minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience, trauma level II experience, recent EPIC charting experience, and at least one travel assignment.
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
• Float: Float rotation may be required within skillset to Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus and possibly to Deaconess Henderson (KY) campus, with a two-hour notice for cross-campus float and no float required within the same campus.
• Additional Information: The unit consists of 32 beds with a ratio of 1:5 for days 1-4, and 1:5-7 for night shifts. The team includes excellent LPN and CNA support. The unit frequently precepts students and new hires.
• Submission Requirements: Attach required certifications upon submittal.
• Schedule: 12-hour days, 36 hours per week, with guaranteed hours except during holidays when the unit is closed.
