Downtown Colorado Springs, CO | Full-Time | Contract Opportunity with Potential for Extension or Long-Term Placement

$34.61–$41.55/hour DOE

We are partnering with the procurement and contracting division of a large public-sector organization in Colorado Springs to hire an experienced Contract Specialist II. This position will support the organization’s centralized procurement team and play a key role in contract administration, purchasing operations, vendor coordination, and solicitation management for a variety of materials, services, and construction-related projects.

Position Overview

The Contract Specialist II will support the procurement team through all phases of the contracting and solicitation process, including bid preparation, vendor communication, proposal evaluations, negotiations, compliance review, and contract administration.

This role requires someone who is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support procurement and contract administration activities for goods, services, equipment, and construction-related projects
• Prepare formal and informal solicitation and bid documents
• Coordinate pre-solicitation meetings, proposal evaluations, and vendor communications
• Assist with negotiations and contract term discussions
• Review bids and proposals for compliance and responsiveness
• Prepare and process contract award documentation
• Support audit preparation and contract documentation management
• Interpret procurement procedures, policies, and applicable regulations
• Collaborate closely with project managers and internal departments throughout the procurement lifecycle
• Generate reports and maintain organized procurement records
• Assist with troubleshooting vendor and contract-related issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in procurement, purchasing, contracts, or contract administration
• Strong understanding of procurement and contracting processes
• Experience supporting formal bid and solicitation processes preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
• Public-sector, government, construction, or regulated industry experience highly preferred
