Job Description

Role Description the Mold Maker is responsible for building, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying plastic injection molds to ensure reliable performance and high-quality production. The ideal candidate has strong machining skills, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and work independently in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

·      Build, assemble, repair, and modify plastic injection molds and mold components.

·      Troubleshoot mold issues and perform preventive maintenance.

·      Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

·      Perform precision fitting, polishing, spotting, and bench work on mold components.

·      Measure and inspect components using precision measuring instruments.

·      Identify mold wear, damage, and potential quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

·      Work with engineering, machining, and production personnel to resolve mold-related issues.

·      Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

·      Follow established quality procedures and workplace safety requirements.

 

Qualifications

·      Proven experience building, repairing, modifying, and maintaining plastic injection molds.

·      Strong knowledge of mold construction, tooling components, and injection molding processes.

·      Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD models.

·      Proficiency with precision machining equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM, as applicable.

·      Skilled in precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.

·      Ability to work to tight tolerances and maintain high-quality standards.

·      Experience fitting, assembling, troubleshooting, and spotting molds.

·      Strong critical thinking skills and mechanical aptitude.

·      Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
