Sr. Software EngineerFounded in 1989 and headquartered in Reston, Virginia, SOSi is a private defense and government solutions business specializing in advanced technology systems and mission support. Its capabilities include data science, software development, network engineering, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and logistics.Job DescriptionSOSi is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support a mission-critical federal payroll and financial management program. This role will support software development, application sustainment, and production operations within a complex enterprise environment.The Senior Software Engineer will support the full software development lifecycle, including software design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and production support. The successful candidate will possess strong legacy application experience supporting enterprise business systems.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications.Develop and maintain COBOL applications within an IBM z/OS environment.Analyze and resolve production issues, including batch processing failures.Support software releases, production deployments, and configuration management.Participate in requirements analysis, code reviews, testing, and documentation.Collaborate with systems engineers, database administrators, testers, and customer stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.10+ years of software engineering experience.Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.Experience supporting enterprise business applications.COBOL, IBM z/OS, JCL, SDLC, Production Support, Software Testing, Configuration ManagementAbility to obtain Public Trust Clearance.Preferred:OracleCognosEndevorPayroll, financial management, or ERP systemsAdditional InformationNormal office conditions with potential to perform duties in deployed locations. Remote or Hybrid work model. Core hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 0600 – 1700.
