Applied AI Generalist Remote / Hybrid (Portland, OR HQ) Competitive Salary plus Equity Full-time About the Role Every team at Prophetic - engineering, sales, operations, account management - runs on AI tooling daily. We need someone who lives at the intersection of building and problem-solving to design, prototype, and ship the internal AI-powered tools that make our teams faster and smarter. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for a curious, startup-minded builder who sees AI not just as infrastructure, but as a design material for problem-solving and innovation. You'll create lightweight, intelligent tools that help our teams find information faster, automate repetitive workflows, and connect AI to internal data sources - without sacrificing context, clarity, or quality. You don't need to be an engineer - you need to be a relentless builder who learns fast and ships faster. You’ll sit on our Research team, reporting to our Chief Product Officer, and work across the organization - collaborating with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Operations to identify high-leverage opportunities and turn them into shipped solutions. What You'll Do Build and ship AI-powered internal tools that reduce friction and unlock scale across the organization - from data enrichment and automated research to smart assistants and agentic workflows. Design agentic flows, reusable prompt systems, and lightweight interfaces that turn strategy into clear, repeatable execution. Apply best practices in prompt engineering, context design, and model selection to ensure tools reflect tone, audience, and business nuance. Rapidly prototype solutions using no-code platforms, scripting, LLM APIs, and internal tools. Connect AI to internal data sources - CRM, support systems, knowledge bases, and communication tools - to create workflows that surface the right information at the right time. Collaborate across Product, Sales, Data, Analytics, and Operations to validate use cases, ensure adoption, and evolve solutions. Explore, test, and expand the role AI plays across the company, contributing to a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and velocity. Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape and bring best-in-class approaches to the team. What You Need 2+ years of hands-on experience building with AI tools and platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, LangChain, or similar), applying them to real-world workflows or products. Comfort prototyping and building fast - whether through no-code tools, scripting, or whatever gets the job done. Fluency in prompt engineering, few-shot design, and shaping AI behavior through well-structured context and tone. A bias toward action and iteration - you move ideas from insight to impact quickly, especially in ambiguous or evolving environments. Curiosity about how different teams work and a drive to turn complexity into clarity. Comfort collaborating across functions and building tools that integrate into broader systems and strategies. Strong sense of product ownership and a fast-paced startup mentality. Nice to Have Experience with CRM enrichment, workflow automation, or internal tool-building platforms (Clay, Zapier, n8n, or similar). Background in proptech, real estate, or construction technology. Comfort with scripting in Python, JavaScript, or similar. Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks, RAG systems, or API integrations. Experience at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series B).
