Director - Solution Architecture, Financial Services (m/f/d)

We're looking for a Director – Solution Architecture, Financial Services (m/f/d) to join our team in Frankfurt and surrounding areas, Germany in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will define and lead the solution architecture strategy for large‑scale financial services programs, spanning core banking modernization, payments infrastructure, capital markets post‑trade platforms, regulatory compliance and Gen‑AI‑driven transformations. You will drive enterprise‑grade designs that ensure scalability, resilience and compliance with European regulations while enabling technology‑driven innovation and value creation for our clients. Responsibilities Define and own the solution architecture vision and roadmap for enterprise‑scale financial services engagements Lead architecture design across applications, integrations and infrastructure ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory guidelines Drive modernization initiatives through cloud‑native designs, microservices and emerging technologies Collaborate with client executives and EPAM delivery leadership to shape solution proposals and delivery outcomes Ensure governance for solution architecture during all program phases and mitigate architecture risks Take ownership of architecture delivery ensuring implementation aligns with solution intent Enable team productivity by embedding AI‑augmented practices to automate repeatable architecture activities Assess and recommend new technologies including Gen‑AI strategies for financial use cases Guide pre‑sales pursuits by driving solution shaping, RFP/RFI responses and executive presentations Requirements 15+ years of experience in IT including at least 7+ years in solution architecture roles Deep expertise in financial services domains including banking, capital markets or payments Proven ability to lead enterprise architecture for large‑scale transformation programs Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and integration frameworks Experience in designing secure, high‑availability and regulatory‑compliant solutions Familiarity with financial regulations such as DORA, MiFIDII, PSD2/3, BaselIV and GDPR Strong understanding of enterprise architecture standards such as TOGAF or Zachman Practical knowledge of Gen‑AI tools and their application in architecture and delivery Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Fluency in English and German Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline Nice to Have Experience delivering digital banking or capital markets modernization programs Familiarity with FS data platforms, Open Banking API ecosystems and event‑driven architectures Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional or TOGAF #J-18808-Ljbffr EPAM Systems
