The manufacturing technician supports all aspects of the thin film manufacturing process. This includes, but is not limited to, coating, metrology, fabrication, parts cleaning & assembly, incoming and final inspection, data interpretation, and data entry. Ideal candidates will possess the following traits/skills: excellent interpersonal skills, be professionally mature and honest in their conduct, have good verbal and written communication skills, be highly detail oriented, driven to learn & improve processes, flexible/agile, reliable, and be a team player.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow instructions and procedures precisely while offering suggestions for continuous improvementHandle fragile products & parts ranging in size from 1 millimeter to 450 millimeters and weigh less than 1 gram to 25 kilogramsMaintains housekeeping, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirementsPerform product and machine inspectionAnalyzes data, and reports abnormalities to the appropriate person/departmentAssemble fixtures, parts, and tooling, calibrate tools/machinesClean product, parts, tooling, machines, work areaAdhere to Company quality policy, environmental policy, sustainability policy, and safety programsUse Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, e-mail, O365, etc.,) and other manufacturing programsQualificationsU.S. Person per EAR Part 772 AND ITAR 120.15High School diploma or equivalentMath skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing) and data analysisComputer proficiency- MS Office such as excelCan multitask and work with a high degree of accuracy, high attention to detailExperience in spectrophotometers is a plusPreferred AbilitiesMechanical/scientific aptitude or interestsSelf-starter/works well alone and with limited supervisionTeam oriented and driven to meet goals and improve processesSkilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and executing detailed instructions, short correspondence (e.g., e-mails, texts, instant messaging)Skilled in writing simple, informational, and technical correspondenceFamiliar with lean manufacturing methods/tools (5-s, root cause analysis, continuous improvement cycle)Some college, Associates Degree in any of the sciences; mechanical, electrical, physics, engineering technology preferredComfortable around machinery & computersExperienced and certified forklift driverPreferred KnowledgeMaterial handling, equipment, and test protocolWafer fabrication, including thin films, photolithography, electroplating, etch, lapping, and probe.Various lab equipment and testing equipmentElectronic and computer technologyGMP and SOPProficiency in mathematics and scientific principles/unitsQuality systems and statistical knowledgeProficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorksWorking ConditionsWork within a manufacturing environmentWill sit 20%-90% of time / stand 10%-80% of time depending on job assignmentBe able to use hands to handle delicate product and very small objects in addition to tools, equipment, or controlsBe able to reach overhead and work on a ladder/elevated heightsBe able to work in various positions, including but not limited to, reaching, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of timeBe able to work extended hours (overtime) when requiredBe able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasksUse of solvents and cleaning substances, lasers, sharp objects, & high heat equipmentMust be able to lift and/or move 35 pounds of weight on occasionClarity of vision to see close and mid-rangeTemperature is moderate within work environmentThe noise level in the manufacturing environment is moderate, but occasionally it can be loudThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
