Role Description This full-time, on-site Technical Support Test Engineer role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The person in this position will provide hands‑on technical support for power quality products, including analyzing product behavior, performing diagnostic tests, and validating fixes. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, replicating customer‑reported problems, documenting test results, and collaborating with engineering teams to improve product reliability and performance. The role will interface directly with customers and internal stakeholders to gather technical details, resolve incidents, and support product deployments and upgrades. The Technical Support Test Engineer will also contribute to test plans, create technical documentation and knowledge base content, and recommend process improvements based on recurring issues and data trends. Qualifications Strong Technical Support skills with experience assisting users of complex hardware and software systems. Hands‑on Troubleshooting capabilities for diagnosing, reproducing, and isolating technical issues in lab and field environments. Solid Analytical Skills for interpreting logs, test data, and performance metrics to identify root causes and patterns. Customer Support and Customer Service experience, including clear communication, empathy, and timely issue resolution. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience testing or supporting power quality, power electronics, or industrial automation products is highly beneficial. Familiarity with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power analyzers, multimeters) and basic electrical safety practices. Ability to write clear technical documentation, test reports, and knowledge base articles.
