Job Goal To assist the Teaching & Learning Department in achieving and maintaining program and instructional excellence so that each student in the Christina School District may derive the greatest possible academic and personal benefit. Performance Responsibilities Provide leadership in aligning curriculum and instruction to Delaware Driver Education standards. Assist in the review and revision of District curriculum guides in Driver Education. With the assistance of the instructional personnel, plan for and conduct quarterly meetings on an "as needed basis" with Driver Education teachers. These meetings should focus on the upgrading of instruction in District classrooms. Attend monthly meetings to serve as a liaison between teachers and the Division of Instruction staff members. Work with Director to become aware of and better utilize quality community resources (human and material) in the instructional process. Assist in assessing and delivering staff development needs. Assist in the collection and dissemination of information relevant to instruction and best practices. Provide leadership in identifying quality textbooks and instructional materials in respective disciplines. Make curriculum recommendations to the Director. Serve as a resource for teachers who need specific subject matter assistance. Serve as a resource for new teachers in Driver Education. Serve as a resource for outside groups who have questions about the curriculum. Participate in five days of program/instructional planning to be scheduled during the summer months after the close of school. Provide guidance, leadership, and instruction for summer Driver Ed programming.
