Asst Site Manager Atlanta, GA, US 30+ days ago Requisition ID: 1020 Person is responsible for managing the entire operation of the facility in accordance with Summerset rules, regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local laws. The assistant site manager will lead and build a team with residents, their families, physicians, and other professionals to promote health and wellness. The role requires strong leadership, relationship building, and serving as a role model for staff and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing individualized care plans, ensuring staff familiarity with resident needs, and maintaining operational excellence across departments. Report to Site Manager and Director of Operations. Qualifications Good administrative and organizational skills Loyalty and dependability Good mental and physical health Completion of a physical examination upon employment and annually thereafter No known problems with drug addiction or alcohol Professional appearance Ability to work congenially with others Ability to work with business associates Ability to work with residents’ families Ability to work with placement agencies Awareness of residents’ rights Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to attend training Good clerical and computer skills Strong verbal and written communication skills At least two years of experience preferred Genuine interest in older adults Alertness to recognize changes in residents’ condition Attention to detail Ability to follow procedures, remain calm, and intervene effectively in emergencies Knowledge of medication policies and procedures Knowledge of OSHA, safety, and health policies Responsibilities Schedule and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules with the nursing department to ensure timely coverage. Collaborate with all departments to provide staff and resident orientations and education on rights and rules. Recommend applicants for employment and assist in employee discharge processes. Document and evaluate employee performance to support staff growth. Maintain knowledge of all facility equipment and its locations. Ensure fire drills are conducted and documented. Organize medication rooms and ensure compliance with state guidelines. Monitor resident health changes and implement interventions when necessary. Ensure nurses review discharge papers and follow orders. Oversee office operations, including staffing and supplies. Complete weekly reports on staff, residents, and changes. Ensure appointments are followed up and residents have appropriate communication systems. Ensure residents’ calls are answered promptly. Maintain procedures in manuals and enforce compliance. Ensure each department is inspection ready daily. Maintain resident and staff files complete and ready for inspection. Daily Tasks Ensure that the property exterior is safe, clear of obstacles, clean, and furniture is secure. Walk the interior of the building to confirm cleanliness and obstacle-free environment. Ensure residents are cared for properly. Conduct daily rounds, speaking with residents to address concerns and verify resolution. Visit the dining room during mealtime to assess meal quality and environment. Review schedule to confirm a Manager on Duty is in place for weekends and that MODs are trained on emergency procedures. Confirm MOD notes, agenda, and personnel list are maintained. Ensure weekend managers are trained. Maintain a communication system for managers to report issues and events. Ensure a sound schedule exists. Assign dining room managers for each meal. Ensure smooth operation of the dining room and timely, hot meals. Return family and resident calls within one hour unless emergency. Monitor morale of staff, residents, families, and visitors. Follow up on emails, letters, faxes, and other correspondence. Send thank you letters for known correspondences. Maintain a complete staff roster each day. Review end-of-day outcomes and plan for the next day. Conduct Department Head meetings to ensure operations run smoothly. Hold a meeting with Maintenance staff. Collect and prepare bills; monitor department spending. Monthly Tasks Conduct a general staff meeting. Conduct mandatory staff meeting. Review, update, and complete emergency and safety requirements. Hold a safety meeting. Conduct mock inspection in each department, rotating weekly. Meet with owners. Address all reports due. Hold a monthly resident meeting with the site manager and administrative staff. Work with owners to ensure customer service excellence for families and residents. Design an ambassador or neighbor program for new residents. Host a monthly new resident social with all department heads. Ensure release forms for resident pictures are signed and filed. Call resident families after the first day and night of residence. Review daily and weekly issues to prepare solutions. Ensure new staff attend orientation and are familiar with residents and care. Perform other duties as assigned.
