Database AdministratorThe database administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrong analytical skillsDisplay aptitude for problem solvingStrong desire to continue as a database administratorDemonstrate willingness to stay current in field standards and practiceAdditional duties and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsSolid background in administrating and deploying a large-scale systemStrong communication skills with ability to push technical issues to resolution in a fast-paced environmentDay-to-day management activities of production databases for system operations. This includes monitoring, troubleshooting, change management, database upgrades & installs, creating backups, and restoring dataDesign database architecture for large scale, production-quality servicesAssist developers in application data modelingParticipation in daily stand-up discussions and iterative, ongoing database development workSelf-motivated with the ability to identify needed processes using best practicesEducation/ExperienceBachelor of Science degree in related field and relevant work experience a plus.Environmental ConditionsIndoor climate-controlled environment. Moderate to quiet noise levelPhysical requirementsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in the written form.
