Sr. Software Engineer Appian to React Migration (Full Stack Engineer)

The COB Platform team is looking for an experienced full stack engineer to support the migration of existing low-code applications to a modern React and Java Spring Boot stack, deployed on AWS EKS. Part of this work involves migrating business logic from SQL Server stored procedures into clean Java REST APIs and building the corresponding React frontend. The engineer will work closely with the platform architect/manager and a small team in a fast-paced delivery environment.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 5+ years of React development React, TypeScript, functional components, hooks
• 5+ years of Java development Java 17 or higher, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security
• Strong REST API design and development experience
• Experience migrating business logic from stored procedures or legacy systems into a Java service layer
• SQL Server or equivalent relational database experience reading and working with complex stored procedures
• Docker containerization multi-stage builds, health checks
• AWS experience EKS, RDS, S3, IAM fundamentals
• Helm chart authoring for Kubernetes deployments
• Okta or equivalent OIDC / OAuth 2.0 integration both SPA (frontend) and resource server (backend)
• Unit testing JUnit 5 / Mockito (backend), Jest / React Testing Library (frontend)

• TanStack Query (React Query) for server state management
• React Router v6
• Spring Data JDBC or JPA for database access
• Tailwind CSS or equivalent utility-first CSS framework
• Playwright or Cypress for end-to-end testing
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools
• Maven or Gradle build tooling
• Bitbucket or equivalent Git-based source control and PR workflow

• Experience migrating from Appian or other low-code platforms to React
• Kafka or event-driven architecture experience
• Healthcare or claims domain knowledge
