Location: Birmingham, Alabama

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for:

• HVAC Repairs & Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems throughout the apartment community.
• EPA/HVAC Compliance: Utilize your EPA certification and HVAC knowledge to safely service and troubleshoot systems.
• Make-Ready/Turns: Prepare apartments for new residents by completing necessary repairs and ensuring units are move-in ready.
• Electrical Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair common electrical issues, outlets, switches, lighting, and fixtures.
• Plumbing Work: Repair leaks, toilets, sinks, showers, garbage disposals, and other plumbing issues.
• Appliance Repairs: Diagnose and repair common apartment appliances.
• Drywall Repairs: Patch holes, repair damaged surfaces, and prepare walls for painting.
• Painting: Complete touch-ups and full-unit painting as needed to maintain a clean, attractive community.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance to help prevent costly repairs and keep property systems operating efficiently.
• Resident Work Orders: Respond to maintenance requests professionally, efficiently, and with great customer service.

What You’ll Need

• EPA Certification and/or HVAC Certification — Required
• Apartment or multifamily maintenance experience preferred
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting and repair skills
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliances, drywall, and painting
• Reliable set of hand and power tools
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
