Job Description

The Medical Imaging Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, and Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients. Utilizing their specific modality, the technologist creates diagnostic images while ensuring a safe and positive experience for patients. In radiation-producing modalities, the technologist practices and enforces radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health Code Part 16. Continuous learning and teaching are supported to keep up with technological advancements in the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical imaging procedures in compliance with departmental policies and standards set by New York state and accrediting agencies.
• Provide patient care appropriate to age and special characteristics of the patient.
• Ensure radiation safety measures are practiced diligently.
• Support continuous learning and teaching within the imaging department.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate Degree in Applied Science - required.
• Diploma in X-Ray - required.
• Graduate of an approved professional academic imaging program - required.
• ARRT certification - required upon hire.
• New York State registration or a limited permit to practice in New York - required upon hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - required upon hire.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
