Senior Accountant

Position Overview The Senior Accountant is the university’s functional leader responsible for recording all endowment investment activities, maintaining endowment subledgers, and monitoring the proper recording of gift activity. The position is critical to ensuring accuracy of the University’s financial reporting and adhering to accounting regulations. Responsibilities Perform investment and endowment accounting responsibilities including journal entries, reconciliations, unitizations, draws, funding chairs, annuities, and trusts payables. Reconcile other balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Assist with month-end close process with special emphasis on gift reporting. Assist with preparation and analysis of quarterly financial statements. Assist with external audit process with external auditors including internal control testing, preparing audit support schedules, performing variance analysis, and assisting with financial statement preparation. Oversee completion of 1099R tax forms for annuities. Assist with campus community questions.
