Robinson High School will support the development of new programming and instructional opportunities for students of Cabarrus County. As this is a new endeavor, flexibility, curiosity, and adaptability are essential to a successful program. While on campus, staff will teach Data Analytics I and AP Computer Science for microschool students. Staff will collaborate with the Program Director to build explicit coursework connections between core classes and healthcare innovation trends. Staff will facilitate hands‑on, problem‑based learning opportunities that function as a model of experiential, career‑connected learning. For the 2026-2027 school year, this staff member will also support Computer Science coursework at Jay M. Robinson HS. Staff will cultivate and sustain strong partnerships with students, families, and community partners to expand the impact of the microschool. Staff will maintain accurate data to monitor and support a cohort of student advisees within the program; this will include regularly scheduled check‑ins to support their academic and personal growth. Staff will travel with students to The Pearl weekly to engage in learning opportunities with industry partners. While off campus, staff will provide instructional support and supervision to students in the program. Reports to Program Director Essential Functions Understand developmental appropriateness of materials and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners; develop explicit connections to healthcare innovation learning. Evaluate accomplishments of students on a regular basis using multiple assessment methods; provide regular feedback to students in their advisory cohort; ensure individualized learning pathways that integrate core and career coursework. Communicate with parents in a timely manner; maintain positive and constructive communication with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders. Protect students, equipment, materials and facilities by taking necessary and reasonable precautions. Uphold and enforce board policy, district goals, administrative procedures and school rules and regulations; adhere to health and safety policies. Maintain appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of planning time. Keep current in subject‑matter knowledge and learning theory; attend workshops, seminars and conferences offered by The Pearl, Cabarrus County Schools, and outside providers. Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics and state and federal laws. Share responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in areas of the school. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree from an approved education program in subject area. Physical Requirements This work requires occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force. Work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting. Work has standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities. Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic). Special Requirements NC Teaching License in appropriate subject area or have qualifications to obtain an NC teaching License. NC DPI Licensure Experience implementing problem‑based learning in the classroom preferred. Willingness to obtain a CDL is required.
