As a Retail Associate, you’re part of it all: supporting cat parents, guiding product choices, and even playing a role in connecting adoptable cats with their forever homes. Pay Range: $21+ / hour. Responsibilities Greet customers in a polite, friendly, and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Continuously update and enhance product knowledge to provide informed recommendations. Learn about the nutritional information of various cat food diets and be able to assist customers with dietary recommendations. Respond to customer inquiries about products, purchase history, and store offerings with clear and accurate information. Identify customer needs and direct them to appropriate products, offering guidance and assistance as needed. Recommend additional products when appropriate, upselling items that complement their purchases. Maintain organized store displays, ensuring shelves are stocked and products are properly arranged at all times. Regularly create and update a list of out-of-stock inventory items to ensure timely restocking. Learn and follow opening and closing procedures to maintain store operations efficiently. Perform regular cleaning tasks, including wiping down counters, dusting, sweeping, and mopping to maintain a clean and tidy environment. Complete daily task lists to ensure the store’s smooth operation. Handle all financial transactions, including cash and card payments, with accuracy and efficiency. Required Skills Strong customer service skills, with the ability to create positive and lasting customer experiences. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers effectively. Attention to detail, with the ability to keep track of store inventory and ensure displays are organized and stocked. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of basic retail operations, including financial transactions and cash handling. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve store goals. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries or concerns with professionalism and care.
