Registered Nurse - Chemotherapy Infusion Hollywood - Part Time

Job Title CTU/Infusion/Oncology Registered Nurse 2 Work Location Hollywood; Part Time Job Summary The incumbent will be a professional Registered Nurse who will administer standard chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, research study and non-chemotherapy medications to oncology patients and patients with multiple disease processes and research study participants. The RN will monitor therapeutic responses, side effects, obtain pharmacokinetic blood samples and other laboratory specimens as required by each protocol, and assist in the maintenance of up-to-date protocol information in clinical areas. Core Job Functions Assess assigned patients, evaluate plans and document nursing care, report symptoms and vital sign changes. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient responses, conditions, and physician orders. Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patient condition. Consult with physicians and other health professionals regarding assigned patients to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans. Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations, procedures, and treatments. Consider patient age and culture during treatment and provide necessary information regarding the treatment plan. Provide psychological support and create a compassionate environment. Perform appropriate patient tests and safely administer medications within scope of practice. Maintain accurate medication and treatment records per regulatory bodies, policies, procedures, and physician orders. Communicate plan of care in a timely manner to patient, family, and team members, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines (e.g., HIPAA). Use available resources to assist in discharge planning. Plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and deliver superior patient care; seek assistance when needed. Safely operate medical equipment. Serve as a preceptor and assist new staff in the provision of care within the healthcare environment. Adhere to University and unit-level policies, procedures, and safeguard University assets. Core Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Certification & Licensing: Florida Registered Nurse License, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS), Basic Life Support Certification (BLS). ONS Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
