Gilco Trucking and Service Center is looking for a dependable, experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team in La Fargeville, New York. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel trucks and trailers.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, and air systems.
- Use OEM diagnostic software as well as OEM Service Information to accurately identify faults and complete repairs.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Keep accurate service records and communicate repair needs clearly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy-duty truck technician preferred.
- Proficiency with OEM diagnostic software, including Cummins INSITE , Detroit Diesel DiagnosticLink (DDDL) , and PACCAR DAVIE4 , is strongly preferred.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical, engine, aftertreatment, and emissions system issues using manufacturer diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical diagnostics, and truck maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs independently.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus but not required.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment.
- Experience with / Certification in MVAC systems (EPA Part 608) preferred but not required
- NYS Inspection License preferred but not required
