And you can maximize your work-life balance and flexibility through our Hybrid Work Model.As a Plant Operations Supervisor (2nd Shift), you will play a key role on the Livonia leadership team, partnering with the Plant Manager to drive overall plant performance and deliver exceptional results in safety, service, quality, and cost. This role leads a team of approximately 40 employees— including forklift drivers, production associates, clerks, and technicians—while fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and maintaining a visible, hands-on presence on the production floor. The ideal candidate is a proactive, positive leader who communicates effectively, drives accountability, and supports team development to enhance performance and morale.Key Responsibilities May Include:Provide hands-on leadership by mentoring, coaching, and guiding employees, addressing employee relations issues, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.Lead and enhance safety performance on shift, promoting a proactive safety culture through training, accident prevention, and rehabilitation programs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.Manage shift maintenance activities, resolving equipment breakdowns in coordination with the maintenance team to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.Drive continuous improvement initiatives on shift, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across end to end operations.Monitor and manage the plant's operational costs and yield, working closely with the Plant Manager to optimize performance and contribute to the overall plant objectives.Address performance and attendance matters in collaboration with HR, ensuring that all plant staff meet operational expectations.Ensure full compliance with CHEP procedures and work instructions, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in line with company standards and operational goals.2nd shift Production hours: 3pm - 11:30pm (Expected attendance for 2:30pm leadership meetings)Key Accountabilities – What you will doSupervise the work of all production employees – oversees production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods.Provide hands-on leadership as a supervisor, responsible for mentoring and coaching all employees and working through employee relations issues.Support plant administration to ensure compliance to established policies.Responsible, in consultation with Plant Manager, for the cost and yield performance of the Plant in partnership with the overall P&L of the Plant.Support cost control initiatives and process control within the Plant.Review operations activities, including local transportation activities, to maintain compliance with all Federal, State and local laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD)Drive Safety improvements (Zero Harm) across the PlantEnsure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant in accordance with the PMSExperience – What you will bringPrior experience in a plant supervisory role in an engineering or manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpfulStrong customer focus orientationStrong people management capability including non-exempt production workforceDemonstrated success in delivering strong employee relationsDemonstrated ability to work cross-functionallyExperience managing safety performance and programsUnderstanding of supply chain practices and metrics and data analysisFamiliarity with Lean Thinking concepts and practicesSkills & KnowledgeAbility to build effective teamsProblem solving and critical thinking skillsCoaching and Conflict Management SkillsExcellent Communication skillsProject Management skillsComputer SkillsAbility to delegate effectivelyWhat we Offer:Competitive Pay w/ Shift DifferentialBenefits Day 1!401K w/ company match (up to 4%)FREE company-paid vision, short-term disability, and life insurance!FREE company-provided PPE and safety equipmentTuition reimbursement, parental leave, childcare assistance, profit sharing, and MORE!Compensation Statement:The salary range for this position is $61,680 to $80,000.Salary ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.
