To learn more about us, visit HVAC Technician - Franklin, VA Austin Industrial is currently seeking a HVAC Technician to join our staff located in Franklin, VA. The technician will install, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment including refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi‑hermetic compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers, and packaged units throughout the district. Requirements for the role include EPA Section 608 Universal Technician Certification, 5+ years of supervisory experience, and strong leadership, customer, and employee relations skills. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and install plant mechanical systems in pulp and paper manufacturing industry. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as conveyors and presses. Read mechanical prints and diagrams, including HVAC systems. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Critical thinking; predictive and preventative maintenance, finding root cause of failure. Work positively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems. Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work alone, with a partner, or as a member of a team maintaining safety, quality & productivity. Engage in preventative maintenance processes throughout the facility. Willingness to cross‑train and learn new skills in other technical areas to enhance capabilities. Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes, stores and work order. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License. HVAC Certification. Meet the physical demands as listed above. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location. Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment.
